Boudoir Belle

DMC cotton floss on
unbleached muslin
10" x 10"

The reference for this design was the drawing on the package of late 1920s boudoir pillow kit. I have no idea which colors were originally intended, so I improvised. Another experiment tinting fabric with Pentel Fabricfun Pastel Dye Sticks and, because of the small areas being covered, the results were satisfactory (they don't blend well on large areas because the strokes are too noticeable.)

I like using muslin to work out the bugs, but for a finished pillow I would probably use linen or polished cotton.
