Using this site...
So here's the thing. I keep getting e-mails from people wanting to digitize the designs on my site to share with their machine-embroidering friends. Since I have a terrible time answering these requests, I'll post my answer here: Sorry, no! Some of the designs on this site are my original creations, and I created (or recreated) ALL of the artwork myself.
I've debated with myself over the years if I should even be posting designs of questionable copyright status, but the whole philanthropic purpose of this site is to give people a reference for
hand-embroidery without having to pay outrageous prices on eBay for vintage designs. So...I've paid outrageous prices on eBay to share with others. If you want to to trace and transfer the designs that I've taken the time to design or redraw and post for free, for YOUR OWN PERSONAL USE, then you are more than welcome. If you want to use the designs on this site to embroider things for your church bazaar, knock yourself out. But...if you want nice, sharp images to disseminate to your Bernina group, check out
JoannDesigns.com instead.
Please don't think that I'm snubbing machine embroiderers. I'm snubbing mass proliferation of my work. Although...now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I could offer digitized files...hmmm. I'll look into it.
PS: I've reworked this entry several times, trying not to sound bitchy (probably didn't succeed), but to read the most recent attempt at non-bitchiness you might want to empy your cache.
PPS: This is one of the reasons this site is updated so infrequently -- I agonize and overthink EVERYTHING.
